Tigers completed their first series sweep since they weren’t 11 games back in the AL Central with an 8-1 win over those hapless Clevelanders. Will Rhymes slapped four hits, Miguel Cabrera was intentionally walked, and Justin Verlander threw eight strong-to-quite-strong innings en route to his 14th win of the season.
The Tigers have the third most home wins in baseball, but their 20-39 record away from Comerica Park, unfortunately, will probably doom them. The Tigers do have six games left against the Twins and seven against the White Sox, but those never go well.
