Scott Boras reported that J.D. Drew might just play baseball next year and not retire. Drew finished up a 5 year/$70mil dollar deal in Boston in 2011. Most people assumed that at the end of his contract he would call it a day and enjoy retirement, particularly given how tough 2011 was for Drew with his struggling average and battling injuries.
Boras said “I just think it depends, frankly, on the locale, winning situation, that kind of thing” in reference to if Drew will play in 2012.
J.D. Drew. I love you. I’m a member of the Drew Crew. I’m pretty sure the only person who loves you more is your mommy…and well, I could probably give her a run for her money. However, are you flippin’ kidding me? Just retire already. Let me remember the good ol’ days.
