Jeff Fisher is a good coach, but a Re-tread is not the answer in NFL today.

bucs coachesIs this coach vocal enough for our young team?Let me be clear, that does NOT mean I support hiring another head coach with out having significant leadership ability as an offensive or defensive coordinator for several years.

Now I dont have a list for you, (Is Rich Bisaccia available?) Pewter Report has a great one. But I know what I see, and retread coaches dont get you much in today’s NFL.

Dont believe me? Lets take a look around the NFL. Playoff teams:
NY Giants- Retread
49ers- NEW COACH- College
Packers- New Coach- Coordinator
Lions- New Coach- Coordinator
Saints- New Coach- Coordinator
Falcons- New Coach- Coordinator
Patriots- Retread
Broncos-Retread
Ravens- New Coach- college
Steelers- New Coach- Coordinator
Bengals- ESTABLISHED COACH who was hired as a coordinator though.
Texans- New Coach- Coordinator

See the picture? Just like when the Bucs hired Tony Dungy, he was NOT the popular choice. Jimmy Johnson and Steve Spurrier were. Johnson failed with the Dolphins, and Spurrier failed with Washington. Dungy succeeded for the most part here, and the Bucs should repeat the lesson.

Hire a defensive or offensive coordinator with a proven record of leadership of a young team, because thats what Tampa Bay needs.
Just like Dungy was.
