The Celtics came into New Jersey today and… after a lackluster 1st quarter… wiped the floor with the New Jersey Nets. They outscored the Nets 53-28 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters en route to a 100-75 win that should have been even more of a blow out than that.
The best stats of the night came out of the Big 3: Ray – 26 minutes played… Paul – 24 minutes played… KG – 27 minutes played.
Nate Robinson (21, 6 and 6) did a pretty good job filling in for Rondo… calming down and playing better team ball after coming out of the blocks gunning. Big Baby (16 and 9) was also great. Avery Bradley got 15 minutes of playing time and played some decent D. Von Wafer scored 8 and made some defensive plays in his 18 minutes.
The Nets flat out sucked. 37.5% shooting… 18 turnovers… Outrebounded by 13… out-assisted 24-16 in a game without Rondo…
Just disgusting.
C's are off 'till Wednesday. Rondo and Shaq, who left with a sore calf, will have time to rest up.
