Jenkins, 27, was a former second-round pick of the Washington Redskins in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Clemson University. He played three seasons with Redskins before signing with the Chicago Bears last year. Jenkins set a career high with three sacks last year, despite missing 11 games due to injury.

McLendon, 30, was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2009 out of Troy University by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and has spent his entire career there. McLendon has five sacks and 84 tackles in his career with the Steelers.
Both Jenkins and McLendon will strengthen the depth of the defensive line of the Jets, which is already one of the most physical in the league. The Jets rank second in rushing yards allowed and fourth in total yards allowed. Both players will add to the physicality of Todd Bowles’s squad.
