The New York Jets have found their replacement for Chris Ivory, by signing former Pro Bowl running back Matt Forte to an undisclosed contract. Forte, has spent his entire career with the Chicago Bears after being drafted out of Tulane University in the 2nd round of the 2008 NFL draft.

Forte, 30, will join a Jets backfield that needed a replacement for Chris Ivory, but also needed a boost for their unstable quarterback position. Having rushed for 8,602 yards in his career, Forte may seem to be coming off a down year after only rushing for 869 yards. However, injuries affected Forte, limiting him to his lowest amount of games played since 2011 (13).

The Jets followed up this move by releasing wide receiver Jeremy Kerley. Kerley, 27, has spent his entire career with the New York Jets since being drafted in the 5th round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Kerley recorded 182 receptions in his Jets career, with 2,225 receiving yards. With wide receivers coming at a premium, it is assumed Kerley wont be out of work too long.
