What’s not fine is you traumatizing others, given your background as a counselor. You did an unethical thing by harming a basketball rat like Jim Pete, someone who loves basketball—well, the Timberwolves really (again, listen to the interview)—like you.
Jim Pete, under your tenure, had no reason to feel like he was walking on “eggshells.” He should not have been punished for his love of the game.
Alright, alright. You get what I’m saying. Now that you’re packing your bags, before you move out, if you haven’t already, could you do me a favor?
Could you get a hold of Jim, and apologize, so he could recover from his trauma?
You don’t need to put on your counseling hat. This isn’t a full-blown therapy session. All you need to do is put yourself in his shoes for a moment, and proceed.
Jim Pete deserves your apology.
He really does.
