Yes, everyone, Joe Mauer is the man. Everyone can complain that the Twins’ catcher missed the past four days with a sprained thumb, but I say YOU try to play baseball with a sprained thumb. You try to do ANYTHING with a sprained thumb. Mauer is making a concerted effort to stay in the lineup this year, and despite the added pressure placed upon himself, he is doing quite well.
So what I am saying is, Mauer made it back to the lineup quickly, he is not missing much time, and he is playing at a decent level. I understand that he grounds into a lot of double plays and is making a lot of money, but neither of those things are what is holding back the Twins. Stop booing Joe Mauer.
