Just yesterday, John Butler’s name surfaced as the most recent candidate for the Special Teams Coach at the University of South and we wrote about how it could be a good fit for Coach Spurrier given Butler’s history of success with special teams. It is being reported that Butler interviewed for the position in Columbia on Tuesday and resigned from his position with the Houston Texans this morning. He has accepted the coaching slot at USC and is set to begin work right away.
I feel this is a great hire for South Carolina and let’s all welcome him to Gamecock Country.
