WWE star John Cena, who will be making his television return on next week’s episodes of Raw and Smackdown Live, has been busy promoting his new movie Bumblebee as he gears up for his in-ring return.
Cena will actually be making his return to WWE at tonight’s Raw live event at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and will be making several WWE holiday tour live event appearances before his official return to television next week.
One of Cena’s Bumblebee promotional stops saw him and his movie co-star Hailee Steinfeld light the famous Empire State Building in New York City, and you can check out photos of the ceremony below.

According to a new report by Page Six, interviewers were told at the lighting of the Empire State building event that they were not allowed to bring up Cena’s 11-month engagement to Nikki Bella, which ended earlier this year in a very public way.
“For Christmas, I want to spend some time with the folks that I love, and then after that I’m coming back the day after Christmas to do a WWE event,” Cena told Page Six.

As of this writing, the movie has a 94% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the film’s critical consensus reading, “Bumblebee proves it’s possible to bring fun and a sense of wonder back to a bloated blockbuster franchise — and sets up its own slate of sequels in the bargain.”

Cena’s longtime relationship with Nikki Bella culminated in a very public engagement in the middle of a WWE ring at WrestleMania, and ended on the reality series Total Bellas in which both Nikki and Cena star. The on-and-off again nature of Cena and Nikki’s relationship, along with the drama playing out on television, prompted much speculation that their engagement was a mere publicity stunt and ratings grab, a notion both Cena and Nikki have vehemently denied throughout the course of 2018.
