Its another two-fer today; Were in the G’s, so lets Do John Gilmore and Earnest Graham together. Why those two? Well because the video stars the both of these guys on one play! Take a look…
The video is where the similarities between these two players end. One is very expendable, the other is not, but soon could be. John Gilmore had wake up with a little bit of a BC Headache after the draft, when the Bucs drafted not one, but two Tight Ends! Despite his good hands, Gilmore has always been known as more of the blocking TE on the Bucs.
But the days of Kellen Winslow and Jeremy Stevens type Tight Ends may be over in Tampa Bay. John Gilmore was brought in by Gruden to be the Meat on the field for two TE sets with Alex Smith. But times have changed; and now with the Bucs drafting TEs that block as well as catch, Gilmore could see his spot expendable.
You have to ask yourself, do you see the Bucs keeping 4 Tight Ends? Because you know K2 is going nowhere anytime soon.
Earnest Graham on the other hand has a different outlook. His versatility has him at Full Back on a team without a real one. Well, experienced that is. But newcomer Eric Lorig looks to have that in place, yet you cant knock Graham’s never say die mentality and attitude. He waited forever as “Mr. August” to have his place in the limelight when Cadillac Williams went down in 2007.
Since then, Graham has spent time at tailback, Fullback, and as seen here, TD tosser! Problem with Graham is his age; he’s up there, and thats not good on a team of kids, and even though he has super low milage. But Graham will keep hacking away at the NFL as long as some one lets him.
