As you’re fully aware, the John Rocker experiment ended Wednesday night when the former big leaguer was booted off “Survivor: San Juan del Sur”.
But I’ve gotta hand it to the guy. Dude made the rounds Thursday, seemingly hitting all his post-show interviews. And folks had a ton of questions to throw his way…both about his time on the show and, well, you know.
“People have an immediate opinion of you due to the Sports Illustrated article and other things,” Xfinity’s Gordon Holmes asked. “How have you approached that over the years?”
“There’s no good answer for that. It’s like ‘When did you stop beating your wife?’ They think you’re a wife beater. People ask me if I’ve changed. That implies that that article is correct. I haven’t changed from 15 years ago, I was never like that to begin with. If you look at Jeff Pearlman and his writing style, that’s just what he does to everyone he writes about,” Rocker responded. “So, when people ask if I’ve changed, I’ve never had to change. I got a hatchet job by Jeff Pearlman.”
There was talk about the game though and, naturally, whether or not Rocker had a good time.
“There was nothing fun about it,” Rocker told former “Survivor” contestant Rob Cesternino. “I don’t regret doing it. Would I do it again? Hell no. It was miserable. I was only out there for ten days and I lost 19 pounds. That’s a miserable ten days right there.”
But, fret not…there was a silver lining to the whole ordeal.
