Monday, Johnny Bench added himself to the growing list of Major Leaguers (past and present) that are supporting Donald Trump.

“I’m going for Donald,” Bench told CNBC’s “Squawk Box”. “I think it is time to have a change in Washington.”

Bench isn’t the first baseball heayweight to throw his support behind the idea of change. Earlier in the year, Bench’s fellow Hall of Famers George Brett and Reggie Jackson announced their support for the Republican candidate.

Another former big leaguer supporting Trump is two-time World Series champion Johnny Damon.

“Everyone is calling him a racist. He just wants people to come into this country legally and fill out the proper paperwork. That’s how I’m viewing it,” Damon added. “If (Trump) needs me anywhere, I’ll be there. He’s a good friend.”

Spoken like a man who once competed for The Donald’s love and affection on “The Celebrity Apprentice”.
