It is official. Johnny Boychuk has been traded to the New York Islanders for a 2015 2nd round pick, 2016 second round pick and a conditional 2016 3rd round pick. It isn’t know what the condition is but I would have to guess it has to do with re-signing in New York.
We all knew this was going to happen but that doesn’t mean we have to like it. The Bruins had to move Johnny Boychuk because he was the only reasonable asset that the Bruins have to trade. No one wants Caron or Kelly or McQuaid – no one.
The return back is horrid but I think the Bruins didn’t get a first round pick because the Islanders don’t have one. Buffalo currently owns that bad boy from the Vanek trade.
All summer DOY has been spouting off about Chiarelli’s poor cap management and all summer people have been telling us to shut the fuck up because we’re just being negative. The Bruins just traded a #2 defenseman for draft picks because they were up against the cap due to some pretty horrible contracts.
