Jordan Kyrou is the 4th-fastest skater in AHL history

The St. Louis Blues have an extremely fast skater waiting in the wings. Jordan Kyrou recently competed at the AHL Skills Competition and put up one of the fastest skating times in the history of the AHL.

Kyrou’s 13.52 time was the second-best in the competition this season and the fourth-best recorded in the AHL.

As impressive as Kyrou’s time was, it probably could have been a touch better had he avoided stumbling slightly behind the net. That shouldn’t take away from what was an incredible effort.

Watching Kyrou post this great time, and considering the Blues aren’t exactly overflowing with speed, one has to wonder when the 20-year-old will find a permanent home in the NHL. Speed is a necessity in the modern NHL and the Blues could desperately use an injection of it up front. Kyrou still needs to sharpen some of his other skills, but you can’t take away from the talents he has already developed.

Kyrou has one goal and two assists in 16 games this season. Hopefully he’ll have another shot at retaining a spot with the Blues in the near future.
