Jordan Leopold has been activated from the IR. The defenseman has been out of the lineup since November 7th when he suffered a ligament injury in his right hand, as reported by the Blues. Leopold needed surgery to repair the injury and has missed a total of 26 games.
While he and Roman Polak have been sidelined, the Blues have rolled with the surprisingly effective duo of Ian Cole and Carlo Colaiacovo. Cole and Carlo have played extremely well (especially Cole), but it will be reassuring to have Leopold and his quiet and reliable demeanor on the ice.
In my opinion, Leopold's defensive skills are pretty underrated. Most I've seen have appraised Leopold as a mostly average defender. In my opinion, he's extremely solid and the fact you may go an entire game without hearing his name is a testament to how dependable he can be in his own zone.
