Jordan Weal To Make Flyers Debut

Cole Hamels

The wait is finally over. Jordan Weal, acquired in a trade with the Kings for Luke Schenn and Vinny Lecavalier, will make his debut tonight against the Boston Bruins. The decision was confirmed by Flyers’ Beat Writer, Sam Carchidi.

Weal, 23, is in the midst of his rookie season and has seen very limited playing time, appearing in 10 games for the Kings before the trade. However, Weal was brilliant over his last two seasons in the AHL amassing 43 goals and 96 assists over the last two seasons. He has yet to score a goal at the NHL level which means that his first goal in black and orange will be a special one for the center from British Columbia.

Jordan Weal will presumably replace R.J Umberger in the Flyers’ line up, however, that is purely speculation.
