Jordan Zimmermann isn’t Making Any Friends in Detroit

-8

Ummm, Jordan Zimmermann…this isn’t how you make friends.

Thursday night, following the Green Bay Packers thrilling last second victory over the Detroit Lions, the pitcher, who just inked a five-year, $110 million deal with the Tigers tweeted this.

Turns out, Zimmermann, however, wasn’t trolling his new fan base…he was just rooting on his home team. The righty grew up just two hours from Green Bay in Auburndale, Wisconsin and went to college even closer in Stevens Point.

All that aside…the internet didn’t see it that way.

And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Dan Haren, who shared a clubhouse with Zimmermann in 2013 while the pair played for the Washington Nationals even got into the mix.

Zimmermann did own up to his mistake though.

And, to be fair, Zimmermann is still learning social media. Thursday night’s faux pas were just the ninth and tenth tweets he’s sent out.

Something tells me we can cut the guy some slack.
