The icing on the cake of what ended up being a pretty tremendous day of baseball Sunday was Jordan Zimmermann’s season ending no-hitter.
The 28-year-old’s no-no is not only the first for the Washington Nationals, but it is also just the fifth no-hitter to be thrown on the final day of the regular season. But none of them ended the way Zimmermann’s did…with left fielder Steven Souza Jr. going full on Superman to secure the pitcher’s place in the history books.
