//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsThe 23-year old Tribe infielder was taken off the field on a stretcher following being taken out at second base on a slide by current MLB Free Agent Moisés Sierra. After the collision Ramirez was attended to on the field, but failed in his attempt to get back up and walk. As of now it is unknown of the severity of his injuries. This past season Ramirez appeared in 97 games for the Indians. He played a variety of shortstop, second, and third base hitting .219 with six home runs and 27 runs batted in this season.
Update: Ramirez had x-rays taken on his left leg as reported by Puesan and they came back negative. While he was in extreme pain after the hard slide, there is no break. He is considered day-to-day and it is unknown whether or not he will return to Winter League play. At the moment, it appears he will still be ready for the Indians before Spring Training begins.
