Relief pitcher Juan Cruz is back on the free agent market. Jayson Stark reports via Twitter the reliever and Phillies have parted ways.

Yesterday Cruz was the lone player expected to arrive in Clearwater but a communication error was said to be the cause for his absence. Today we have a little more clarity on the situation. Stark followed up the above tweet by reporting Cruz was hoping to find a spot where he would have a legitimate chance to make a major league roster for the upcoming season. After the Phillies reunited with reliever Chad Durbin, Cruz decided Philadelphia may not be the spot for him.
