According to many reports, former Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas has agreed to a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Reports are indicating that it is a five-year deal worth $9.2 million per year with $24 million guaranteed. He is expected to sign once free agency begins. Thomas immediately brings explosiveness and raw offensive ability to a depleted Jaguars team. In his career, Thomas has caught 109 passes for 1,282 yards and 24 touchdowns, all with Denver. The signing could spell the end of Marcedes Lewis and his long run in Jacksonville. Lewis, who is going into his 10th year, could be expendable now thanks to the signing.
The Jaguars also are helping quarterback Blake Bortles by signing offensive lineman Jeremy Parnell to a five-year deal with $6.4 million per year. The Jaguars are placing a lot of faith in the second year quarterback out of Central Florida and are committed to surrounding him with talent.
