Jung Ho Kang Reportedly Arrested for DUI in South Korea

Reports from South Korea have have emerged saying that Pittsburgh Pirates INF Jung Ho Kang was arrest for driving under the influence in his native South Korea.

On a day in which many Pittsburgh Pirates fans were pondering where Andrew McCutchen will play in 2017, a late breaking report added more consternation to their plates.

Multiple outlets, first reported by Sung Min Kim, detail that Pirates INF Jung Ho Kang was arrested late last night in his native South Korea, on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The report was quickly corroborated by other outlets, both stateside and overseas.

Kang’s blood alcohol level was reportedly 0.084 percent. The legal limit in South Korea is 0.05 percent. Additionally, Kang reportedly attempted to flee the scene. No one was injured.

This news comes months after Jung Ho Kang was investigated by authorities in Chicago after an alleged sexual assault. The latest reports in that case indicate that the Chicago Police had great difficulty in locating Kang’s accuser.

As of this writing, the Pittsburgh Pirates are preparing a statement. When that statement is released, Pirates Breakdown will update this post.
