Just Wait For The 9th

TimbersOffseason

Why watch the full game when you could just watch the 9th inning. When talking about the Red Sox it makes perfect sense as of lately. Not only did they come back with a 5 run 9th inning the night before they did it again last night with another impressive comeback.

The 5 run top of the 9th to win 5-3 was very impressive and was a big momentum turn for the Sox who have been in a slump the past 2 weeks. But anytime you come back and put up big numbers in the 9th to win the team has to be feeling good about themselves.

They rolled all that momentum into last night’s game 1 of 4 against the Mariners in Seattle. The comeback started in the top of the 8th inning when Aaron Hill went yard making tying it at 1.

Junichi Tazawa would then get himself into a tight spot giving up a hit to Aoki and intentionally walking Cano. The situation was first and third with 2 outs, and the tying run just 90 feet away. The count worked it’s was to 3-2 and Tazawa would come in the clutch getting Cruz to chase and miss for strike three.

The Sox would head to the top of the 9th all tied at 1. Betts lead off the inning and he lead it off big by hitting a 569-yard homerun over the left field wall giving the Sox a 2-1 lead and leading them to a victory.

With this win, the Red Sox are back in sole position of second place with a 58-46 record just one game behind the Orioles for the lead of the division. The Sox are back in action tonight as David Price will be on the mound taking on Wade LeBlanc.
