I don’t want the Pirates to win tonight so that they can get above .500 or back into the NL Central race. I think that they’re pretty much out of the race right now and .500 is one of those things that will happen or it won’t and we can worry about that later. Right now, I don’t want the Pirates to lose three games in a row to the freaking Cubs. I hope that’s not too much to ask.
Charlie Morton takes the mound tonight and it may be with his rotation spot on the line. Matt Garza, who the Pirates singled to death back in April, goes for the Cubs. Ryan Doumit is back on the active roster (Fryer is sent down, Overbay’s DFA opened a roster spot), but not in the lineup. We are NOT talking about catcher’s ERA tonight.
