Justin Fargas lands in Denver

The Denver Broncos are looking to sign for Raider running back Justin Fargas to a contract. This according to multiple sources including former Raider teammate Michael Bush via his Twitter page.

The Broncos are in sudden need of another runningback after injuries to Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter. Earlier this week the team signed LenDale White and now they are looking to bring in Fargas as well. The signing will be dependant on Fargas passing a physical.

Fargas spent 7 seasons with the Raiders and was injured through most of them. In fact, he only played one complete season for the Raiders in 2006 with his best season coming in 2007 in which he rushed for over 1000 yards despite starting only 7 games.

His injury concerns along with his age (30) have kept him from being signed since his release from the Raiders back in March. The Broncos expect both Moreno and Buckhalter back before the start of the season so Fargas will be competing for the final roster spot with White and several other little known backs trying to hang onto an NFL roster.

If Fargas can prove he still has something left in the tank, even if he doesn’t make the Bronco’s roster, he could quickly be signed by another team in need of running back help.
