Ryan Kalish had successful shoulder surgery today but the recovery time will be at least 6 months and likely longer. This means that Kalish may be out for the 2013 season. The Red Sox have Victorino, Ellsbury, Nava, Gomes and Hassan as outfielders on the roster right now. The team signed Sweeney to a minor league contract last week and may promote him if he does well this spring.
