Kansas City Chiefs Sign Former Gamecock Shaun Smith

Recently the Kansas City Chiefs brought in help for their defensive line as they signed free agent defensive tackle Shaun Smith.

The 6-foot-2, 325-pound Smith has played in 63 games, including 27 starts, with New Orleans, Cincinnati and Cleveland. He has 196 tackles and 2 sacks during his career.  Smith began his NFL career as a rookie free agent in 2003 with Dallas, where he was a member of the practice squad and then worked his way up for real playing time.

Shaun played two years at USC after transferring in from Butler Community College in Kansas.  He played mainly as a reserve DE while at Carolina.

Terms of the deal have not been made public but I am sure it is a nice paycheck for the former Gamecock.
