Just because suburban Chicago is Notre Dame’s backyard, doesn’t mean that other schools don’t come by to look.  And when it came to Wheaton (Ill) St. Francis OT Kyle Bosch, they liked what they found.  “I have five offers right now from Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State and West Virginia.  But I’ve also been hearing a lot from Northwestern, Illinois, Penn State, Arkansas, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame and Stanford.”

“I don’t have an official ‘Top Schools’ list or anything like that, but I definitely liked Penn State.  I went there on an unofficial, and it was cool, I got to meet Coach Paterno and Coach Kenney,” he told NLD.

“I was very impressed by Coach Kenney, he was very straight-forward.  We talked about what he expects from his players, and how high his standards are.  I like that, I like that he expects so much from his players.  That’s how you become a good football player.”

As for what Bosch is looking for in a school, he mentioned academics, coaching staff and the ability to see the field early.  “I want a coaching staff where we can see eye-to-eye,” he said.  “And I want to have the chance to contribute early.  I don’t want to just sit on the bench for three years.  I want to work and be on the field by my sophomore year.  My freshman year even, if possible.”

“And of course, academics are important in case football doesn’t work out,” he added.

Kyle Bosch self-reports himself at 6’5″, 280 lbs and squats about 585, and should be one of the Nittany Lions top OT prospects for the 2013 year.
