Do you remember Keith Bogans? He and his non-guaranteed $5 million contract came over from Brooklyn in the Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett deal. Bogans played in a whopping 6 games for the Cs before he was mysteriously ordered to stay away from the team. Bogans was finally dealt to Cleveland for Dwight Powell in January 2014.

Why am I bringing this up? Because the 35-year old Bogans is desperate for another shot in the NBA and wants to set the record straight. Via the Boston Herald:

Bogans’ claim of not knowing a reason, however, runs counter to the team’s understanding. He also denies a reported incident during a team bus ride in which he loudly challenged Stevens.

“That was totally made up. I read that story,” he said of the bus incident, reported in the Herald. “Everything I read in the paper was a lie. It was left for ya’ll to speculate, say I blew up on the bus. That was all a lie, and it made me look bad in the rest of the NBA community. That’s not what happened.”

A team source, couching words, claimed that if such an incident occurred, it was not reported to management. But there appears to be little doubt that Bogans understood the reason for his exile.

“At least part of the idea was his,” said the source.

Back in the first half of the 2013-14 season, Bogans was unhappy with his place at the end of the bench. His furlough, though, added insult.

“Nobody wants to go home midway through the season,” he said. “That was definitely a disappointment for me. I wasn’t going to sit at home and dwell on it. I just took the year off and decided to come back this year.”

First off, I don’t recall a report about Bogans challenging Stevens on the team bus. Secondly, Bogans is doing more harm than good by revisiting his time in green.

Thanks to this little media blitz, 29 other GMs are reminded that Bogans acted like a dink in Boston.
