Despite only losing 4 games since the start of the 2006 season, Boise State’s football program hasn’t gotten the respect they believe they deserve. Believe this: they earned it tonight with a 33-30 win against Virginia Tech. Kellen Moore directed a Joe Montana-like final drive to put the Broncos ahead for good with 1:09 left. He also knows where his Broncos should be ranked next week, and possibly at the end of the season.
The game wasn’t without controversy: two questionable calls both went in favor of Boise State on their final drive, though I would argue that they were going to score regardless of how far they had to move the ball; Moore was that good on their final possession. Regardless, Boise State deserves to be at the top of the new polls tomorrow after what was basically a road win against a top 10 team.
