Kemba Walker Honored By Big East

UConn HuskiesThe first weekly honors for the Big East men’s basketball teams came out on Monday afternoon and there were no members of the UConn Huskies named as player of the week.

However, UConn point guard Kemba Walker was honored for his play in the first two games, which were wins, as he was named to the Big East Honor Roll.

Walker had 18 points,  six rebounds and three assists in UConn’s season-opening win over Stony Brook. Walker then went out and put up a career-high 42 points along with eight rebounds and three assists in UConn’s 89-73 win over Vermont.

The UConn men’s basketball team is currently playing in the EA Sports Maui Invitational. They beat Wichita State earlier today (recap coming up shortly) and will take on the winner of the Chaminade/Michigan State matchup which is taking place later tonight.
