JUCO transfer WR Kenbrell Thompkins has been ruled not eligible to play for UC this season, per the NCAA and Bill Koch. Thompkins signed with Tennessee, but left when Lane Kiffin scampered on to USC. This isn’t a terrible blow, because Thompkins can play the next two seasons. But, it kinda hurts for depth reasons. UC really needed a 5th receiver in the worst way. Fuck, I think I might have jinxed things now. DJ, Binns and Hazelton are all probably going down on this, the first day of practice or whatever it officially is. Hopefully Thompkins will be able to shine on the scout team the way Vidal did last season, and be ready to be one of the men next season.
