Clayton Kershaw followed Zach Greinke, who pitched a gem on Friday, by pitching his own on Saturday
night as the Los Angeles Dodgers shut out the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-0.
Kershaw, who also knocked in a run with a double, struck out eight and allowed three hits over eight
innings.
Juan Uribe went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer in the Dodgers’ victory. Los Angeles has its first 10-game
win streak since 2006, is 25-3 since the All-Star break and has a 42-8 record since June 22.
As for the Phillies, who are now 0-2 under new manager Ryne Sandberg, they have now lost 20-of-24, and have
been shut out for the 12th time this season.
Kyle Kendrick went six innings in the loss, giving up two runs on seven hits.
The Phillies will close out the series on Sunday. First pitch scheduled for 1:35 pm.
