Kevin Garnett and Andrei Kirilenko may not be far from returning to action

The Nets have won their last two games, after dropping two decisions in a row, so they’ve rebounding from a rare losing streak with a couple of victories. However, with the playoffs right around the corner, Brooklyn needs as many of its key players healthy as possible. Now, with some news that came out before yesterday’s win over the Timberwolves, those reinforcements might be back soon.

Right before gametime on Sunday, the team announced that Kevin Garnett (back spasms) and Andrei Kirilenko (ankle) could possibly return to action soon. The Nets head to Florida on April 8th to take on the Heat and Magic in a quick, southern swing which is when KG–who hasn’t played in 16 games–is likely to return from the debilitating back spasms he’s been going through.

Meanwhile, AK–who sprained his ankle a few games ago–could come back into the fold by the middle of next week, as the Nets round out their regular season slate of games. Brooklyn has, clearly, been able to hold suit in the absence of these two key players but obviously needs for them to be back so they can shake all their possible rust off before the playoffs.
