Kevin Shattenkirk is closing in on a return to the lineup and it couldn’t come at a better time. The Blues have dropped three in a row (though they did pick up a couple of points) and look unorganized and sloppy on defense. Offensively, the Blues haven’t been able to replace Shattenkirk’s production. Despite skating in just 49 games, Shattenkirk’s 40 points trails Alex Pietrangelo (73 games) by just one point.
So, when will Shattenkirk be back? Maybe by the next homestand.
Hitch did say Shattenkirk is close to getting back into lineup. Did not say when though. I would not rule him out next homestand. #stlblues

At this stage, it’s wise to work Shattenkirk back into the lineup slowly, but the Blues will want him to see some action before the playoffs.
