All
players except Daniels and Pierce practiced today; TA took Paul's spot
in today's session but no decision yet on who starts vs. Orlando.
First, Pierce might be able to return sooner than the two weeks
originally estimated. Second, Kevin Garnett (right thigh bruise)
practiced at full speed and will play against the Orlando Magic Friday.
Third, forward Glen Davis (broken right hand) could be activated
against the Magic.
We know Tony is going to get the start. He's done it in the past… and with Marquis out there really isn't another option. Yeah, sometimes Doc will start Scal in a situation like this… but Tony's been playing well so far.
In all actuality, the C's can better withstand the loss of Pierce than they can the loss of KG. As much as Pierce can take over a game… you can rely on Rondo to step up the attack and put others in a good position to score. No one can direct the C's defense like KG.
Don't be shocked to see a Rondo, Ray, Perk, Sheed and KG line up so the C's can try to create a few matchup problems. I'm not expecting much out of Davis since he's gone so long without game action. Maybe a few spot minutes at the end of quarters… but I'd be surprised if he plays more than a few minutes.
