Remember a few weeks ago when the Pirates were getting blown out of the water every night and they’d lost like a bajillion games in a row in Miller Park and were regularly giving up 10+ runs and it seemed like they might never win again? With a win tonight, the Pirates will run their record to 19-22, their current win streak to three, and their win streak against the Brewers to four. Not anything staggering, but not so bad either.
The main news tonight is that Brendan Donnelly is back to take high-leverage innings way from Joel Hanrahan and Evan Meek and to make room for him on the roster, Jack Taschner is going on the disabled list with an injury that no one knew he had. Donnelly was not great before his injury; if he starts getting put into the seventh and eighth innings when better pitchers are available, I will not be very happy.
Anyways, first pitch is at 7:05 with Chris Narveson and Paul Maholm on the mound. Clemente/Cangelosi is after the break.
