Sean Kilpatrick scored 7 points with 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal as Team USA rolled over the Czech Republic 96-53 this morning. Kilpatrick was just 2-9 from the field. He hit 1-5 from 3. He did make both of his free throws. I thought that Kilpatrick's jumper looked a lot quicker than what we saw last season. It's not as quick as say fellow teammate Luke Hancock, but Killa is getting the ball up quick. He was credited with 1 assist, but he, and the rest of the team, worked the ball around very well. If hockey assists were a thing, SK would have had a couple of those.
This follows an opening game performance where Kilpatrick scored 18 on 7-14 shooting, 4-9 from 3 in a historic USA rout. Although he didn't have his best shooting game, Kilpatrick looked like a leader out there. He and Yogi Ferrell were standing on the bench when the team was on offense. He was telling guys where to be on the floor, he was making an impact while not playing his best. That's something you love to see.
