Winning solves everything, at least for now. The newest Sacramento Kings free agent acquisitions mingled with a courtside DeMarcus Cousins, who even greeted George Karl as the summer league roster earned its first win. They beat the Golden State Warriors by the final score of 90-62.

With defense and initial ball control, the Kings raced out the gates and never looked back. Sacramento held a 16-point lead at half, limiting their turnovers to nine and containing Golden State to 35 percent shooting. The Warriors finished the game with 32.9 percent accuracy from the floor while the Kings shot a sizzling 51.5 percent on field goals, including 5-of-18 from behind the arc.

Six Kings scored in double figures. Willie Cauley-Stein had his best two-way performance in the Summer League to date, producing 13 points, eight rebounds and five blocks. Frontcourt partner Eric Moreland came off the bench and notched 11 points, six boards and two swats.

Wing James Anderson connected on a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor and totaled 17 points to lead all scorers. David Wear and Duje Dukan added 13 points apiece, and point guard David Stockton had 10 points, four assists and two turnovers.

For the Warriors, Santa Cruz D-Leaguer Dominique Sutton and Stanford’s Stefan Nastic dropped in 14 points each. 2015 30th pick Kevon Looney recorded 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Kings are now 1-2 in 2015 Summer League play. They’ll await the results of Monday evening and Tuesday’s games before tournament seeding is scheduled.
