<![CDATA[Kirk Muller, the former head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, has signed a two-year deal with the St. Louis Blues as an assistant coach. Muller, 48, previously worked for Carolina the past three seasons and was an assistant coach in Montreal between 2006 and 2011.
Muller is a solid fit for the Blues. For starters, he’s pretty familiar with the current front office. When Muller was skating with the Dallas Stars, Ken Hitchcock was the team’s coach and Doug Armstrong was their GM.
Muller had been connected to a few other teams, but he knew the Blues were the right fit after speaking with Armstrong. It’ll be interesting to see how he helps shapes the Blues. It’s unclear who will be taking over the power play now that Gary Agnew is no longer with the organization, but it’s possible Muller will be given a shot.]]>
