After speculation of consideration, the New York Knicks have formally stated that while trying to rebuild their team for the 2012-2013 season, they will not pursue former Sixers guard, Allen Iverson. Iverson has been in the spotlight lately after making an appearance before a familiar crowd as he presented the game ball prior to Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semi-finals match-up between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics. This is the latest struggle for the former superstar and future Hall of Famer, who expressed his desire to play basketball at the professional level again in an interview during game 6. Since his departure from the Philadelphia 76ers in 2010 after only 25 games, Allen Iverson has begun to make his transition of taking his talents overseas, including his recent play in China.
The New York Knicks ended the 2011-2012 season with a record of 36-30 before being eliminated in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs by the Miami Heat in just five games. Look for New York to be on the move this summer as they hope to put together a championship caliber team.
