Know Your Opponent: Indiana St Sycamores

Buffalo Sabres v New Jersey Devils

This isn’t going to be very in-depth. Indiana St is awful. Let’s get to it anyway.

UC would be better off playing Moeller, or Elder, or St X, whoever is good. Indiana St would be challenged by those teams. There are two notable things about the Sycamores. 1,  Rick Minter is one of their coaches. 2, Marvin Lewis’ son Marcus is a player. Indiana St is 1-0 after demolishing some school no one has heard of in some division under theirs. It would be the equivalent of Indiana St playing me and you and your friends. They ran for 357 yards, so that’s something we can expect Saturday. Darius Gates had 165 yards and 3 TDs. Shakir Bell had 133 yards and a TD.

Ronnie Fauch is the QB. He sucks. He was only 10-21 for 143 against no one, and I expect similar tomorrow. Alex Jones was the big play receiver, with 2 catches for 79 yards, a long of 43. The kicker, Cory Little, was 1-1 on field goals, but 6-8 on extra points, which is awful. I expect him to miss at least 1 or 2.

Here is what I expect from the Bearcats. Whatever bs Butch Jones said about how he doesn’t know who will start on the line doesn’t matter. Everyone is going to play. I just want everyone healthy for NC State on Thursday. That should be the only concern. I expect the starters to play a half. If you really like Chazz Anderson, show up Saturday. I’ll put this on a list, so it takes up more space.

  1. The linemen to keep Zach upright. Everyone is going to play like I just said, so they will all get a chance to shine. The opposition sucks, but we can’t let that bother us.
  2. The defense to hold ISU under 150 yards. Yeah, I’m going with an unrealistic sounding NCAA ’11 defensive performance, but I think it could happen.
  3. I want to see the running game shine. Pead, Goebel, Williams, I want at least 250 yards rushing.
  4. Finally, I’ll reiterate, everyone needs to stay healthy.

UC should score 60. I’ll predict this. Cincinnati 62 Indiana St 10.
