Today the Tampa Bay Lightning called up veteran defenseman Matt Taornina from the Syracuse and reassigned Slater Koekkoek to the Crunch.
Koekkoek, the former first round pick, has been a healthy scratch for the first three games, all of which the Bolts have won. Nikita Nesterov has been the sixth defenseman.
Coach Jon Cooper has stated that he sees no reason to change the lineup because the team is winning. That certainly makes sense.

Expect Koekkoek to be recalled soon after Saturday’s Crunch game as Tampa Bay plays five games in eight days after that.
