Kraig Howe becomes Badgers’ 25th commit for 2015 class

It didn’t take long at all for former Pitt defensive tackle commit Kraig Howe to pledge to the Badgers. In fact, it was just hours in to his visit to the Madison campus, but the Badgers are back up to 25 commits in the class.

Our recruiting partners at Badger247 (if you aren’t subscribing you should be) are reporting that Howe has committed to the Badgers on Saturday afternoon.

Howe, a 3-star defensive tackle out of the Dayton, Ohio (Alter) is the 25th commitment to the Badgers in the 2015 recruiting class. He is rated as the No. 56 defensive tackle in the class and the No. 42-ranked player out of the state of Ohio.

With the commit the Badgers are back in the state of Ohio, but you may also recognize the school that Howe comes from. That’s because it is the same high school as former Badger great, Chris Borland.

Howe had plenty of interest from around the Big Ten and Midwest in general, choosing the Badgers over names like Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa State, Boston College, Minnesota and others.

Wisconsin now has three defensive tackle commits in this class, with Howe joining Olive Sagapolu and Elu Aydon to date. Sagapolu reaffirmed his commitment just this past week, while Aydon’s status appears up in the air with his original recruiter (Coach K) out at Oregon State with Gary Andersen.

Here is his senior film:

Howe was recruited by Wisconsin offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph, who gets his third commitment to the Badgers in the short time he’s been at UW.

While Howe isn’t the biggest kid out there just yet, his athletic ability combined with potential for some serious size could make him a player to keep an eye on in a year or two.
