Good piece until the end. The part about Manning playing in blowouts is NOT an interesting argument. They play Manning late because 1. they’ve seen crazy comebacks before and 2. they mostly just hand off and 3. they don’t have anything clinched yet.
Nonsense. And yes, I doled out about $400 to send my kids and their friends to Sunday’s game.
Bottom line, the Colts’ only obligation to fans is to put a competitive team on the field every year, and on that count, they’ve more than held up their end of the bargain this decade. When you go to a play, do you know if the understudy is going to be on stage? More to the point, would you prefer a 7-7 team playing for its playoff life, or a 14-0 team setting itself up for the postseason?
Most of us may disagree with the decision to yank Manning and never re-insert him, but these howls of “refund” and “fraud” are patently ridiculous.
