This is not meant to blast or diminish Sampson, Cheeks and Wilkes, all fine players in their day. But none of them come close to measuring up to Reggie Miller. None of them. Miller was the all-time 3-point shooting champ, until Ray Allen recently took him down. He played 18 years, was the picture of longevity. He carried Pacers teams, taking them deep into the playoffs year after year. He made the All-Star team five times, the most of any of the current finalists and did so during a golden age of shooting guards when he was competing with the best ever.
Most amazing of all? He was even more productive in the playoffs than he was in the regular season. When it mattered most, Uncle Reggie always raised his game.
