Kravitz says worry, don’t panic

Yeah, that’s pretty much right.

The result itself wasn’t so stunning; it’s the way the result was achieved that made your jaw drop.

“They controlled that line of scrimmage,” coach Jim Caldwell said plainly. “That’s for certain.”

As complicated as the game is, with all its packages and personnel groupings and schematic adjustments, it still comes down to basic blocking and tackling. And on both counts, the Colts were horribly lacking.

They didn’t just get beat; they got beat up.

He grades the Colts.  He’s generous to the coaches.

Coaching: C

Actually, I loved Jim Caldwell’s gutsy decision to go for it on fourth-and-2 at the Houston 45-yard line with the Colts trailing 13-7. That move resulted in a field goal. Beyond that, though, the Colts seemed uncharacteristically confused, both offensively and defensively. Who were those guys? Twice during a second-half drive, Manning was forced to call timeouts to avoid delay of game penalties. Defensively, they never came up with any kind of answer for the Texans’ running game. This was the kind of sloppy, uneven performance we see from this team about once every six months.

Listen 4th and 2 is not gusty.  It’s not.  It’s the no brainer right call from almost every position on the field.  I’m tired of calls that should be considered no brainers being called gusty.
