Jess Rubenstein at The Prospect Park reports that Chris Kreider (2009 – 1st) scored his eighth goal of the season, but it wasn’t enough as #1 Boston College fell to unranked UMass 4-2.
Kreider, who is now 4th in the NCAA in scoring, was a -2 and took two minor penalties. For UMass, Rangers 2007 seventh round pick Danny Hobbs had two assists.
Here’s video of UMass fans going insane after the huge upset…
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmsGQ1tquWA&w=450&h=315]In other prospect news, Michael St. Croix (2011 – 4th) had two assists last night to extend his scoring streak to 10 games.
…while the -2 is troubling for Kreider, I really could care less. The Rangers are counting on him to be a scoring threat and that’s what he’s been all year so far for BC.
