Here were his things to watch before the game…
Curtis Painter: He’s not a popular guy in Indianapolis, where people remember how much he struggled in the two regular-season losses at the end of the 2009 regular season. If he’s good, it’s gravy. If he’s not, fans just have to grin and endure it, knowing that the expectation is that Peyton Manning stays healthy and plays every snap the team deems relevant once the games count.
And his thoughts after the game
Curtis Painter was incredibly ineffective. Even with protection issues that performance makes it impossible to say he’s improved on his rookie work. Nine for 19 for 64 yards with three interceptions. Yeesh. Forty-Niners third-stringer Nate Davis was more calm and collected than Painter and the Colts’ third QB, Tom Brandstater.
He also wants to know if you want apologies from officials after blown calls. Personally, I do. It makes me feel better when the ref admits he screwed up (re: Larry Johnson 4 point play)
